There’s nothing more impressive than finishing an entire tube of lip balm without losing it or breaking it in half. Think about it, how many chap sticks have you ever used start to finish? Here are the 3 balms I like so much, I don’t dare to let them out of my sight. I’ve kept all three close by my side this long & frosty winter.
Halpy’s Lip Balm Picks
- Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm: For a little more than a subway ride ($3.30) you can have my #1 choice in chap stick. This strong peppermint flavor automatically soothes, cools and refreshes your dry, chapped lips. Contains beeswax, coconut oil, sunflower oil, and peppermint oil. Thicker in texture which helps to provide long lasting and immediate relief. This is the only chap stick I have ever used up completely and I rushed to buy another so I didn’t have to go a day without it! Right now Burt’s Bees’ website is holding a promotion- if you buy 4 lip balms you get the 5th free! So share the love of lip balm with all your favorite people this Valentine’s Day.
- Bobbi Brown Lip Balm: Comes in a sleek silver tin and is definitely the most expensive balm I’ve ever bought. At $20, you get a pretty packaged wheat germ and olive oil based blend that is mild in scent & adds super shine. Because of its silky nature, it works perfectly alone for a more natural look or it can be applied over a lipstick or liner or both for even more shine and softness.
- Baby Lips Dr. Rescue: At $4.49, this product is affordable enough to stock up on and you might want to consider it since they market it to be used regularly in order to sooth by the minute, smooth by the day and renew by the month. This medicated balm claims to provide 12+ hours of hydration and I’m impressed that I only had to re-apply after a long day running around the city in some awfully cold weather. This balm contains menthol and has a nice silky texture that provides quick relief. It feels more oily than the rest of the brands but I don’t mind the consistency. Most importantly, it comes in 6 different shades!
