As each season comes to an end, it never seizes to amaze me how excited I get over the approaching one. This is mostly due to how much I miss wearing the clothing appropriate for those months. I find the summer to be the easiest season to style in because the less is more look is always an easy one to master. While summer is effortless and easy, fall throws me a curve ball with layering and accessorizing that takes time and thoughtful deliberation.
My advice for maintaining your sanity is to shop your own closet at the end of every season. Apply the “1 year rule” to all clothing and accessories (if you haven’t worn it in 1 year, then you should donate it or offer it to someone you think may love it more than you have in the past 12 months.)
This seasonal shopping will remind you of all the great pieces you have to work with AND it will be much easier to build off those styles when shopping around for additions.
